Review of “Never Letting Go” by Cyrus A. Webb

C. A. Webb “Conversations Book Club”
reviewed Never Letting Go: Heal Grief with Help from the Other Side

Author Mark Anthony Reminds Us All That When It Comes To Our Loved Ones We Never Have To Let Go August 11, 2012

Dying and death are not easy topics for anyone one to really grapple with, but it is something that regardless of who we are has to be dealt with at some point. When you lose someone you love, there is usually the feelings of emptiness and loneliness that accompany it. What a book like NEVER LETTING GO by Mark Anthony does, however, is give you comfort as you grieve.

There will be some that will disagree with Anthony and others about what happens at death and our loved ones. That’s ok. He even shares in the book that not all will agree with reaching out to the other side, but I think individuals of faith will be able to resonate with the core of the book: knowing that our Heavenly Father and those we love would want us to be able to move on and thrive.

Anthony writes: “The healing comes from knowing that your loved one in spirit is happy, safe, and free of the ills that plagued him or her while living in the material world. It is also important for a person here to know that the sacrifices he or she made for someone who died are appreciated.” (p.202)

Anthony shares in the book that for him mediumship is a “gift of healing from God.” His mother helped him to see that death is not the end. He is now able to share that with us, and those who are willing to believe in something more than themselves.

I see this book as a conversation piece for anyone who feels as though they lack closure when it comes to a deceased loved on. It might not come in the form you want, but this book does show that we can find joy and the strength to move on. In the end, this is what our loved one would want anyway.

Delivered with compassion and love, NEVER LETTING GO reminds us that when it come to our loved ones we never have to.

Review of “Never Letting Go” by the Institute for Global Transformation

Never Letting Go

By Mark Anthony

Mark Anthony is an Oxford educated trial attorney located in Florida. He’s probably not someone you would think about as a medium or a person you would consider contacting to connect you with those who have passed on. After reading his book, however, I would say that he should probably be your first choice. He doesn’t spend much time trying to justify his ability; he simply recounts many experiences that he has had in his service work of helping people who are in need of some connection with a loved one who has passed over.

Mark comes from a family whose members share this ability, especially his mother. They can see, hear and feel the presence of those spirits who come to them in order to communicate with the living. This is a very important point to Mark; the spirits come to him because he is speaking with someone who needs that communication. It is not happenstance.

The case files shared by Mark dramatically show the unfinished business that creates the necessity for such communication. These files run the gamut from intense love and therefore a feeling of great loss to intense anger, which brings its own array of emotions. The communications facilitated by Mark provide a great opportunity to transmute feelings that have paralyzed or kept loved ones from moving forward with their lives.

No attempt is made to prove his contacts; that is for the reader to determine. However, the varied scope of the contacts and the obvious conclusion that he could not know the specific information given to him by the spirits, indicates that there is validity to the service Mark provides.

The End of the World is at Hand–Or Not!

Some people are actually panicking about tomorrow December 21, 2012. For years many have heard rumors that this is the end of the world.

Even Communist China has gotten in on the act. This week over 100 people were arrested because they dared to express their Christian religious belief that the world was coming to an end. So much for a new era of tolerance in China. No one does religious suppression better than the Communist Chinese. Just ask any Buddhist in Tibet.

Despite the uproar, rumors about the end of the world are nothing new and have been going of for centuries.

The Hindus believe that the end of the world is merely part of the eternal cycle of creation, sustenance and death/destruction. When one world ends another will be created in its place. This may be why in the east few people are concerned about the end of time since they believe it is only part of the cycle of eternity.

The Roman Emperor Caligula was a mentally unbalanced 24 year old with the power of life and death over everyone in the Roman Empire. He once remarked during the beheading of one of his alleged enemies, “I wish all Rome had just one neck!” Needless to say for many in the Empire, the end of the world for them depended on what type of mood Caligula was in that day.

Norse mythology actually has an end of the world “myth.” In that scenario the evil Frost Giants escape from their frozen prison to attack Valhalla, the very home of the Norse gods themselves. Despite a valiant battle the world ends and the gods go down fighting. Sounds like so many super hero movies that have come out in recent years. Very Viking, but so far no sightings of Frost Giants have been reported. “Phew!”

The Vatican claimed the world would end in the year 1000 A.D. Just last week Pope Benedict XVI started tweeting on twitter, so it looks like the Vatican was wrong a thousand years ago—go figure!

Puritans were in love with the end of the world. They were also asked to leave England so they could come to the New World to have the freedom practice their religious fanaticism without interference from the British Crown.

In the 1640’s many Puritans confessed and openly proclaimed they were ready for God to come down from Heaven and judge them. Of course, they were going to be judged ready for Heaven and everyone else was going to Hell.

Ironically, it is the New World where this modern obsession with the pop culture apocalypse arises.

And no–it wasn’t Orson Welles “War of the Worlds” broadcast that led many in the 1930s to believe an invasion from the planet Mars was the end of the world. It was actually the Mayans–whom the Puritans would have dismissed as heathen pagans.

Unknowingly, the Mayans created a framework for people who would come centuries after their demise would panic about an end to all things. However, that assumes that the people generating this Pop Culture Apocalypse actually know what they’re talking about.

The Mayan calendar is based on what archaeologists call  “ The Long Count.” The Long Count began during the creation episode in Mayan mythology. The first day of The Long Count is what the Mayans referred to as Day Zero and that was August 11, 3114 B.C.

The Mayan system of time keeping was solar based which is why the winter solstice (December 21 in most cases) is the starting point. According to Mayan history expert Professor Russell Colgate, “Though the Maya believed that successive creations were cyclic, there is no clear evidence of what they thought would happen on December 21, 2010.”

So, the date the Mayan calendar returns to Day Zero is when its cycle has passed and that will be December 21 (or possibly 22) of 2012. Then a new cycle of Mayan time keeping begins and it will be another 5,000 plus years before the Zero Day is reached again. Think of it this way, is it the end of your car when the odometer rolls over?

Basically the Mayan culture was tied to agriculture, thus the emphasis on the Winter Solstice as a starting point to gauge when to plant crops.  They were also gifted with superb mathematicians and astronomers who created a very elaborate system of tracking time. But as far as claiming the world was coming to the end—the Mayans weren’t really interested in that, much less did they foretell its coming.

And while delving into pop culture, it is hard not to quote Cheech and Chong, “The world’s going to end but I don’t even care–so long as I get to keep my limo and my orange hair!”

See you after the Apocalypse.

Santa Claus is Real

What do you do when your child asks, “Is Santa Claus real?”

The answer is “YES.” Santa Claus may not fly around on a sleigh and drop off toys to children around the world but he did bring us important gifts and still does as a spiritual inspiration to millions of people.

The true mean of Christmas, whatever your faith may be, is enshrined in the three virtues of St. Nicholas: Selflessness, Compassion to Children, and Submission to the will of God.

SELFLESSNESS

About three hundred years after the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, Nicholas was born into a wealthy Greek family in what is nowTurkey. At the time this region was part of the Roman Empire.

Nicholas’ life promised to be one of happiness and privilege but he lost both of his parents to the plague. Nicholas was devastated by grief. Yet instead of succumbing to the pleasures which wealth can bring, he remembered what his mother had taught him about Jesus. He decided to sell his material possessions to help the poor and to follow a religious life. Nicholas joined the clergy and due to his intensely spiritual, pious, and giving nature rose quickly to the rank of Bishop.

COMPASSION TO CHILDREN

Bishop Nicholas spoke out against slavery. He was saddened when he heard of a man too poor to provide his daughters a dowry for their marriages. This meant these young girls would have to be sold into slavery as the family could not afford them. Mysteriously, on three nights, bags of gold were flung through the family’s open window. It was said the gold landed on stockings and shoes left near the fireplace to dry. The girls had a dowry and were saved from a life of slavery. This is the basis for the belief Santa Claus delivers presents in the middle of the night.

SUBMISSION TO THE WILL OF GOD

Bishop Nicholas and his fellow Christians though were persecuted by theRoman Empireunder the tyrannical Emperor Diocletian. He was arrested and imprisoned. The dungeons of theRoman Empirewere a desperate place indeed, yet instead of succumbing to fear, Bishop Nicholas saw an opportunity to continue his work in the service of God. He ministered to the hopeless and the sick. He taught the criminals to turn away from a life of crime.

After Diocletian’s death, Bishop Nicholas was freed. He became a powerful voice for the growing Christian religion and even attended the first Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D. which established Christianity as the new religion of the Roman Empire.

Bishop Nicholas died on December 6, 343 A.D. in the city ofMyra. According to legend his body exuded oil, called manna, which is reputed to have healing powers. Eventually his body was moved to Bari, Italy. To this day, it is reported that manna flows from his bones.

After his death, Bishop Nicholas was proclaimed a Saint. Tales of St. Nicholas’ goodness spread throughout many parts of the world. Through translation from one language to the next, St. Nicholas became “Sinter Klaus” and eventually in modern America, “Santa Claus.”

The gifts of St. Nicholas are the three virtues he lived by: selflessness, compassion for children and submission to the will of God. If we accept these virtues, St. Nicholas may continue to be a living spiritual influence in our lives, and that is why Santa Claus is real.

THE NEVER LETTING GO BOOK TOUR: THE STANLEY HOTEL and GHOST HUNT PART II

The last day of The End of Days Paranormal Conference hosted by Dave Schrader of Darkness Radio started around midday on November 17, 2012.

I was the final speaker. My presentation was about Interdimensional Communication and Understanding the Science of Spirit Contact. The crowd was extremely receptive and it seemed to pave the way for the final night of paranormal investigations.

The second night of ghost hunting started for Rocky and I in the notorious Room 217. There were a couple hundred attendees at the conference and those who were participating in the paranormal investigations were broken up into groups of about twenty people. This way the attendees could be split up into smaller groups and rotated throughout the various locations at The Stanley.

It was a clear and cold night without a cloud in the sky. The Stanley Hotel is a combination of a luxury resort with the elegance of the Old West. Could there be a better setting to look for ghosts?

When Rocky and I arrived at Room 217 several people were in the room and the investigators were using several different types of electronic equipment. The room was quite dim as the investigators like lower light levels in the event a “shadow person” emerges.

I find this interesting because I never have trouble communicating or detecting spirits—and in fully lighted conditions. But then—something extraordinary happened. A shadow began to emerge in the corner of the room. It appeared to the investigators to be a shadow person. Many of the attendees became fearful that they were experiencing contact from the dark levels of the Other Side.

“Mark—do you sense anything?” the investigator asked.

“I do,” I replied as I approached the corner where the shadow now loomed high and filled the corner. I didn’t feel any negativity. In fact, I felt the energy of a spirit reaching out in fellowship and friendliness.

“His name is Paul, and he says there is a grandfather figure with him. Now, the grandfather is coming through and he died of a heartattack—he wants to make contact,” I explained.

A voice from the other side of the room emerged from the dark.

“My grandfather just died a few weeks ago,” a young woman said, “is it him?”

“He says ‘It is time for you to have a good day’” I conveyed what seemed to be a message which made no sense.

The young woman, barely out of her teens came over to me. She was weeping softly.

“We were so close. Since he died—I can’t sleep. I haven’t had a good day—that means so much to me,” she replied as she hugged me.

And with that, the lights came on and the next group of ghost hunters arrived. It was time to move on to another location in The Stanley.

Fascinating how we can jump to conclusions that spirit contact is scary when in this case, a grandfather’s love and concern reached out from the Other Side.

At nearly 2 am on Sunday morning Rocky and I headed to the next location which was the tunnel beneath The Stanley Hotel. The Stanley Hotel was built in 1909 atop a large granite deposit. The granite is loaded with quartz crystals. This is significant since because such a huge concentration of crystals amplifies frequency and radio waves. It dawned on me that The Stanley is sitting atop a huge amplifier.

As a medium what I do is tune into frequency. The theory is that mediumistic activity is regulated by the pineal gland inside our brain. The pineal gland is known to house small magnetite and calcite crystals. Magnetite has an electro-magnetic field and calcite is a quartz crystal. It must be remembered that early radios were quartz crystals with copper wire running low levels of electrical current through them. In short, inside the human head is an antenna, receiver and transmitter.

The reason this is significant is that when one comes into close proximity to such an immense field of frequency, such as The Stanley Hotel, it may intensify our naturally occurring mediumistic abilities.

This certainly seemed to be the case in the early morning hours in the tunnel beneath The Stanley. The ghost hunter/investigator had about a dozen of us stand in the dark while he listened to his equipment which is supposed to detect spirit activity.

No one was disappointed as the equipment began to go off the scale. However, that was the least significant event.

Everyone was looking in one direction. Rocky however, always a fan of movies felt she should look behind us. She later confided in me that she’d seen too many horror movies where a boogie man would sneak up on a crowd of people from behind.

And guess what? Rocky was the first to notice a strange anomaly forming about 20 feet behind us.

“Look! Everyone turn around!” she said emphatically, “There’s a green light taking shape down the tunnel!”

The crowd turned and several people gasped.

A green light was indeed forming on the rock wall at the far end of the tunnel. A band of undulating black and green “ribbon” appeared along the side of cave like structure.

“It’s a demon!” the ghost hunter cried out. The crowd became alarmed.

Not sure if fortune really favors the foolish, I decided to walk into the energy pattern.

“Be careful Mark!” a voice called out to me from the dark.

“He can’t help himself,” came Rocky’s reply.

I must admit half way into it I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I wondered if I was proverbially biting off a bigger chunk then I could chew. And then—I felt the energy of this being—or rather group of beings.

Suddenly, I felt a familiar energy by my side.

“Mom?”

“Relax you’re fine, it’s nothing scary,” came her reply from the Other Side.

I almost burst out laughing and then I realized my mother Jeannie’s spirit was with me.  She was a very gifted medium when she was here in the material world, and it dawned on me Jeannie would certainly never miss out on something as fun as ghost hunt.

I also realized that I was now standing before this green and black energy pattern which appeared to be intelligent, but in a non-human way. This reminded me of something I’d experienced when I was working with mediums in England. They referred to this energy as an elemental. Or, as my friend Jane Dawson from Scotland called it, “A fairy.”

There was a time in my life when I would’ve scoffed at the notion of something like a fairy or a pixie. However, these are names given to spiritual entities that are not human or angelic. Elementals are intelligent non-human energies. They are not necessarily evil or even negative for that matter. They simply are tuned into a different frequency than we are, and are more connected to the earth and to nature.

I explained this to the group of fellow ghost hunters.

“Its energy is approaching me!” the ghost hunter exclaimed, “It is like a huge lava lamp and its covering me!”

“She,” I explained as the fairy had a feminine feel to her, “is studying you.”

“Why is she studying me?” the ghost hunter wanted to know.

“Well—aren’t you studying her?”

“Yeah—hadn’t thought about that—I guess they’re curious about us too,” he said sounding relieved.

“She’s curious why we’re so interested in her. She means no harm and feels very peaceful,” I explained.

Lisa and Connor who are on staff at The Stanley as paranormal investigators asked to speak with me after this encounter.

“It seems that your impressions and our conclusions are very similar,” Lisa said.

“I like the objective approach,” Connor said, “You take the fear out of the contact.”

“It is my belief that there is nothing to fear. Being afraid of spirits is like being afraid of the grass because it is green or the sky because it is blue,” I replied. “Their frequency and our frequency overlap. It isn’t an invasion from the Other Side, it is just the way of the universe—or of the multi-verses.”

As it was approaching 4 am, it was time to retire. Rocky and I returned to our suite.

The next morning we said farewell to so many friends and new friends we’d made at The Stanley. It was sad, almost like the end of a family reunion—but also happy in that I somehow feel we’ll all be together again in the dark, electronic equipment whizzing and buzzing searching for empirical evidence of the Other Side.

I cannot thank the staff of The Stanley or Dave Schrader enough for this incredible opportunity. I highly recommend a visit to The Stanley for anyone interested in spectral phenomenon, or anyone who appreciates the sheer beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

THE NEVER LETTING GO BOOK TOUR: THE STANLEY HOTEL and GHOST HUNT PART I

I was honored to be invited by Dave Schrader of Darkness Radio (Talk News Minneapolis, Mn) to be a keynote speaker at the “End of Days Paranormal Conference,” which was held at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.

The Stanley Hotel enjoys the reputation for being one of the most haunted hotels in the United States. It was also the setting for the classic Steven King horror film “The Shining.” In fact, room 217 is allegedly the epicenter of paranormal activity at The Stanley. Although I’m not one to jump to conclusions that just because there is paranormal activity somewhere that it is naturally “evil” or negative, but I did raise an eyebrow when I saw my reservation was for room 211 a few doors down the hall from the notorious room 217.

My road manager Rocky and I checked into our suite, we decided to light a white candle and say some prayers for protection and to bless our trip. She is a devout Catholic and as an “almost” Catholic priest I decided it couldn’t hurt. Armed with a white Yankee Candle and a rosary, we said some prayers to guide us on our journey and for protection. At the conclusion of our prayers, I realized I felt more relaxed. Rocky too seemed more at ease and this underscored my position on prayer—it raises vibrational frequency and helps one to become more focused and centered.

Many high profile ghost hunters where attending and speaking at the conference. Many of them were using equipment which theoretically tunes into or picks up ultra-high frequencies which are said to detect the “voices” of spirits. I must say that many of the demonstrations were fascinating.

Rocky and I attended ghost hunts on two nights. The first night we were in the Lodge which is next to the main hotel. Some of the EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) equipment seemed to pick up a few words and phrases from spirits. The ghost hunter working with the equipment was convinced he heard the word “demon” although Rocky and I both understood it to be “Steven.”

As an attorney I have learned it is best to remain objective when assessing a case. As a medium, I have found my legal training and experience compliments my spiritual work. It is important to remain neutral and objective and not “fill in the blanks” with preconceived ideas that spectral phenomenon is necessarily negative. This also coincides with the objectives of “Evidential Mediumship,” which requires one to bring forth verifiable facts and evidence from a spiritual entity without jumping to conclusions.

It appeared that many of the “ghost hunters” seemed to want the contact to involve negative spirits. What I did find refreshing was that the team of paranormal investigators on staff at The Stanley did not jump to these conclusions. Their work was based on compiling facts and evidence during the investigations which was then examined in a clinical setting after the investigation. Lisa and Connor were two of the investigators who worked for The Stanley. Their professionalism was exemplary.

It is my belief that investigations of spiritual activity should be approached professionally and without preconceived notions. Employing the scientific method is of paramount importance and the only way that paranormal investigations can be taken seriously by the scientific community.

THE NEVER LETTING GO BOOK TOUR: THE IVY LEAGUE

I was honored to accept invitations from Brown University and Harvard University to speak about the Afterlife and about my book Never Letting Go. Therefore, Rocky and I flew to Boston the last week of November 2012.

The first engagement was in Providence, Rhode Island at Brown University. The drive from Boston brought us through snow flurries and freezing weather. Despite the icy temperatures, the reception at Brown was warm and inviting.

The crowd was a mix of students, faculty, and the public. They had probing and intelligent questions about spirit contact. It was my privilege to conduct gallery readings for the attendees as part of my presentation.

Rocky and I left Brown and started the drive back to Boston. It was after 10 pm and I noticed something which for me was unusual. I flipped on the bright lights.

“It looks like Star Trek,” I blurted out.

“What?” Rocky asked.

“It looks like Star Trek—you know when the stars go whizzing by,” I said perplexed.

“Mark, it’s snowing,” Rocky laughed, “That is what snow looks like when the car headlights reflect off of it as you’re driving through it.”

Now we both started laughing. I live in Florida and was raised in Florida. For me snow is something I’ve seen on vacations and although I’ve been in snow before, I’ve never driven through a snow storm. It was beautiful and for me an almost otherworldly event. It was as if we were warping through space at amazing speeds watching stars flash by.

I realized speeding when it was snowing wasn’t the smartest thing in the world, so I slowed down and we returned to our hotel—which I couldn’t help but to imagine was Star Base Marriott Courtyard.

The next night I spoke at Harvard. The Harvard Coop was the site of my presentation. What I did not realize was that Harvard Square outside the Coop had so many homeless people. Several came to the presentation to escape the freezing weather and for the free coffee provided.

I was amazed at the stark contrast of the wealth and prominence of what is supposedly the most prestigious University in the United States against the poverty of such poor people. My heart went out to these souls who honored me with their presence. Many of them joined in the discussion and shared their thoughts. It was a humbling experience.

The final day of the tour took us to the Barnes and Noble at Peabody (pronounced Pee-biddy). Rocky and I realized that for the first time in a long time, I didn’t have any media appearances or interviews that day. We actually had a free day so we decided to visit Salem, Marblehead and Gloucester.

I kept thinking about the old 60’s TV show Bewitched when we were in Salem. The show did a series of episodes which took place in Salem and Gloucester. Rocky and I cracked up when we remembered how the bed warmer in the House of the Seven Gables was actually one of Samantha’s old boyfriends.

When we arrived in Gloucester we visited the Memorial to the Lost Seamen. We both joked how in the TV show one of the witches inadvertently caused the Seaman’s statue to come alive. However, when we arrived at the memorial we found it to be anything but funny.

This memorial is for “They who go down to the sea in ships.” From 1623 to 1923 over 5,000 men from Gloucester lost their lives while working aboard ships. Some of these ships went down with all hands and no trace of the vessels was ever found.

Tales of plummeting to the depths of “Davey Jones Locker” seemed to haunt us as we gazed upon the list of names of men lost and we imagined how terrified these brave men were as they fought desperately against the unforgiving power of the ocean only to disappear beneath the waves.

Rocky shed a tear for these brave men.

Together, we read the prayer at the memorial for the lost seamen. It truly was touching.

Later that evening, I spoke at the Barnes and Noble in Peabody. The crowd was very receptive and somehow the experience of the memorial to the lost seamen made it even more poignant. Everyone there had lost a loved one and was grieving. Together we worked through some of the pain. It was an amazing experience.

I’d like to thank the faculty and staff at Brown and Harvard for inviting me to speak. Special thanks to Paula the Community Relations Manager of Barnes and Noble in Peabody.

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who has found comfort in my book Never Letting Go and for those people everywhere who are facing the holidays without a loved one.

May God Bless all of you and guide you through this time. Your loved ones have not disintegrated; they’ve transitioned to a different dimension. The body perishes, the soul is immortal.

May you find relief in the words of the greatest of all teachers, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

The Never Letting Go Tour: The Stanley Hotel For Heaven’s Sake!

This week I will be returning to Colorado for “The End of Days Paranormal Conference & Ghost Hunt.” This metaphysical event of the year is sponsored by Dave Schrader’s Darkness Radio Show on Fox News AM 1130 Minneapolis, Minnesota and also broadcast worldwide via the internet.

The End of Days Paranormal Conference & Ghost Hunt starts on November 15, 2012 at The Stanley Hotel in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. This is an incredibly appropriate venue since The Stanley Hotel was the setting for the Steven King film The Shining.

While I’m not worried that the festivities will be disrupted by an axe wielding Jack Nicholson, The Stanley has long been considered one of the premier haunted vacation destinations in the U.S. Ghost Hunts are popular at The Stanley and this week promises to be a Ghost Hunter’s dream come true.

The infamous Room 217  is the epicenter of paranormal phenomenon at The Stanley.  Some believe it is a vortex or a portal between this world and another dimension.

Many people who’ve stayed in Room 217 have reported otherworldly contact. One of the most notable incidents involved Jim Carrey who stayed in Room 217 while filming a movie. According to the staff of The Stanley, a terrified Jim Carrey who was wearing only pajamas ran screaming out of the room in the middle of the night. When he regained his composure, he refused to set foot ever again in The Stanley. Mr. Carrey ordered his belongings sent to him at another hotel.

Was this some kind of macabre encounter with another dimension, or a clever publicity stunt? In any case the amazingly talented actor who brought The Mask to life may have met his match from the Other Side!

While I am a medium who communicates with spirits, I am also an attorney. I require proof by verifiable evidence before I will accept whether a place, even one as famous as The Stanley is “haunted.” That is why I look forward to investigating The Stanley with my colleagues from various metaphysical disciplines.

As a Keynote Speaker, on Saturday, November 17 at 1 pm I will give a presentation on “Interdimensional Communication: Understanding Spirit Contact.”

This presentation will focus on the science behind spirit contact and the physiological basis which enables us to communicate with the spirit realm. My position on contact with the spirit realm focuses on taking the superstition and fear out of spirit contact and seeing it for what it really is—communication with another dimension which overlaps our dimension. I look forward to conducting gallery readings as well.

Dianne Fresquez of Denver’s For Heaven’s Sake Metaphysical Center and Bookstore will be joining me after the presentation. Dianne is a dear friend and metaphysical colleague. She will be bringing with her copies of my best-selling book Never Letting Go which will be on sale after my presentation. I look forward to this book signing!

Monday, November 19 brings me to Denver where I will be presenting a talk on Spirit Contact and conducting gallery readings at none other than—you guessed it—For Heaven’s Sake Metaphysical Center and Bookstore located at 4900 West 46th Avenue, Denver, Colorado. This event will begin at 7 pm. I’m looking forward to returning to For Heaven’s Sake.

I’m looking forward to sharing more encounters with the Other Side with all of you!

The Never Letting Go Tour: The Sword of Joy

Recently during the Never Letting Go book tour, I conducted a reading for a woman whose son had passed. The loss of a child is a pain beyond comprehension. No mother should ever have to see a child die, and this was a particularly tragic passing.

A tremendous amount of evidence came through from the Other Side. Toward the end of the reading this woman wanted to know if she could ask a question.

“Of course,” I replied.

“My son had tattoos, can you see what they were?” she asked.

It is not unusual for clients to ask me validation question. She needed to know that this was truly her son who was communicating.

I opened myself to frequency and trusted in God to guide the correct information to come to me.

Spirit contact is subtle and can be very diffuse, yet the first image I saw was unmistakable.

“I see a skull,” I conveyed.

“He did have a skull tattoo!” She exclaimed.

“And a bird—I’m trying to make out exactly the type of bird,” I described

“He had a tattoo of a blue bird!”

“There is also a sword and it is a really intense image,” I responded.

“No the sword makes no sense whatsoever,” she said sounding disappointed.

Although I was “two out of three” I could not let the image of the sword go. I knew this was significant, so I kept focusing. The image of the sword then began to move.

After years of conducting readings I’ve learned to give what I get no matter how bizarre. I described the vision I was receiving.

“I’m seeing the sword—almost dancing—it is now flying around and landing right in the middle of this large stone. It looks like the image of Excalibur—the sword from the King Arthur legend. It literally is ‘The Sword in the Stone.’”

The client started at me. I could see a single tear roll down her cheek.

“That was his favorite movie as a boy,” she said softly, “‘The Sword in the Stone,’ he must have watched the video of that film 50 times.”

I stood silent as I saw her face turn from an expression of pain and sadness to one of joy and peace. It seemed as if her son’s spirit had given her the strength to pull the sword of joy from the stone of sadness.

The Never Letting Go Tour: Unexpected Contact in Salem

It was October 28 and I had just concluded a lecture and gallery reading at Circles of Wisdom bookstore and metaphysical center in Andover, Massachusetts. On the way back to our hotel in Boston, my road manager Rocky and I decided to stop in Salem for dinner.

Hurricane Sandy’s outer bands were beginning to affect New England. The crisp and clear autumn weather had now been replaced by an ominous wind and rain. As we entered Salem, we could see the Halloween festivities were thinning out as the costumed visitors were seeking shelter in restaurants and bars.

Salem’s Lobster Shanty a local “hole in the wall” with some of the best lobster I’ve ever eaten was a welcome relief from the cold wind and rain. After an amazing dinner and a lot of laughs with people in rain soaked Halloween costumes, Rocky and I decided to head back to Boston.

However, as we left, Rocky said she’d always wanted to see the House of the Seven Gables. It was near the Lobster Shanty so figured we catch a glimpse from the car before our sojourn to Boston.

Moments later we drove by this ancient house popularized in literature and film. Suddenly, the wind intensified. It took all I had to steady the car on the narrow road in front of the House of the Seven Gables. We drove by the dark street and saw the famous house illuminated by lights. Continuing forward we passed darkened woods. I felt a cold chill resonate through my body—the type of sensation I often receive when communicating with a spirit.

“Why did you say that?” Rocky asked.

“I didn’t say anything,” I replied.

“No—you did say something—you said ‘And then it all fell apart.’”

“And then it all fell apart?” I repeated, “Are you sure, I don’t remember saying anything.”

“The weird thing is, it wasn’t your voice,” she said looking concerned.

“I guess we’d better leave Salem before something falls apart,” I joked.

“How can you say that—it’s kind of spooky,” Rocky replied.

“Yes, but it didn’t feel malevolent—just wanting to make contact. A lot of spirit contact is misinterpreted as something sinister when in actuality, the spirit just wants to communicate with the Material World,” I explained.

Things that might be considered weird happen to me all the time. It is just that I am usually prepared for the contact. This night was different.

As we departed Salem and headed into the dark of a windy and rainy night, it seemed like Halloween had come early.
